I have spent the last 15 years working in the tech field. I am pretty bored with it all. I am interested in becoming a real estate agent with hopes of becoming an appraiser or inspector.
I am wondering if the downturn in the economy has made it impossible to make money as an agent?
I’ve been to a few New York Real Estate auctions at courthouses recently and often the banks are buying the properties back, They either have a specified bid they come in with or will outbid the public. I don’t understand. Don’t these banks want these properties off the books?
I may be going to one this week. Do I have to pay to get in? Do they hire on the spot? Do I pay for all my Real Estate Training if hired? Thanks.

I don’t have enough up-front cash to pay for real estate but I’d like to buy some property. Are there loans I can get, or should I finance it directly with the seller?
Ok so its no secret that the real estate market has been going down. Foreclosure, Lender’s not approving buyers. Where do you guys think the market going?
I agree that it is still a buyers market, but for realtors and loan officers its mainly finding someone who has the money to put down and a good credit score because Lender’s are being extra careful. Its also true that people where not well informed with the loans they where getting screwed into.
We’re first time home buyers and I don’t know anyone in our area that’s actually purchased a home – so I have no way to get a recommendation. Should I just check realtor.com until I run across someone that’s particularly helpful? Is there particular well know real estate agents such as Century 21 or Remax that generally has a good reputation?
What would you recommend for finding a decent one?

If I sell my own house without a real estate agent, what is my exposure to liability to a purchaser? Say I sell a house that has known or unknown defects. What area is the best to purchase real estate cheap that seems like it will be going up really fast over the next 5-10 years? Like Las Vegas used to be really cheap and now its sky high.
A property is listed in a bankruptcy proceeding under Creditors. However, real estate agents have shown the property in the MLS as an approved Short Sale. Can the Trustee list property while he has it listed in a bankruptcy petition?

Hi. I’m having some problems with my Real Estate attorney. He’s just not providing to me the appropriate services that I need and he’s also been overheard saying that he hasn’t done any work on my file thus far. We signed the contracts in October. How effective is it to change now that we’re so close but yet so far if we continue to use him.

I want to become a Real Estate Salesperson in Michigan and want to know how much it costs to take the exam to get your license.
I’m a former real estate agent in Michigan, just starting up again after a few years in a new area. I just want to refresh my mind on what is involved in the closing process, financing options, paperwork needed- all the steps for buying and selling. I thought maybe there’s a book I could read right away to refresh my mind. All the books I find are solely on selling techniques, marketing, succeeding, etc.
