My 1st attempt was a failure. I did not reach the score of 77% – the NJ real estate exam was so different from the certification, it seemed very different than what I was expecting & prepared for.
Any suggestions? I try one more time next week.
Thanks so much!

What I’ve done in the past for the same exam in Colorado was that I took practice testes. I took about 5 or 6 of them then went back and see what area I’ve missed the most. Then I studied that section again and again.
Even though the real test is different than the practice one, I think you will do just fine if you practice some more

The first question is this: how did you take the license class? In person or online. If online, there is the problem. The sole purpose of the license class is to help you pass the exam. As you have found, there is ALOT of information in the book that isn’t on the test.
Either way, I would recommend the following, which worked for me.
1. See if any of the real estate schools offer a one day pre-test review session. The cost may be free or something like $25. If Weichert or Long and Foster are in your areas, they should be offering this.
2. I would take the book(s) and do the tests at the end of each chapter. Then mark the questions you got wrong. Then use these questions as a study guide. If you got the question right, then you know the information. Focus just on the questions you got wrong.
3. Don’t overthink it.
